Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain sidelined indefinitely with left knee lateral meniscus tear

The Philadelphia 76ers have confirmed that rookie Jared McCain has sustained a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee. As a result, he will undergo surgery and his return to the court is unknown at this time.

McCain, the No. 16 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, started the season strong with averages of 15.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds over the first 23 games of his rookie campaign.

McCain suffered the injury during Philadelphia’s 121-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

The Sixers (7-16) are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.
