NBA Players Born on October 23: A Celebration of Birthdays

Jordan Crawford is among the notable former NBA players to be born on October 23rd.

Below are the most notable NBA players born on Oct 23:

Keith Van Horn (1975):

Van Horn was the second overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. While the Philadelphia 76ers drafted him, Van Horn was traded to the New Jersey Nets just two days after the draft.. It was easy to see why New Jersey pulled that trigger, with Van Horn finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting in his debut season. Playing for the Nets was Van Horn’s glory days, averaging 18.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals. He only played five years there, though, suiting up for the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks to close out his 9-year career. He retired at 31 because Van Horn said his kids were growing up fast, and he wanted to spend more time with them. 

Jordan Crawford (1988):

Crawford didn’t have a lengthy career, but he was a flashy player every time he hit the floor. The guard was taken 27th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets but never played for them. He made his debut with the Atlanta Hawks in 2011 and made the biggest impact after a midseason trade to the Washington Wizards. Crawford averaged 16.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in that stint and followed it up with 14.7 points per game the following year. Crawford also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans during his career. The upside is what fans loved, though, with Crawford showcasing a 41-point career-high in 2014 while recording three triple-doubles throughout his career as well.
