Anthony Edwards has taken on a larger role for the Minnesota Timberwolves with Karl-Anthony Towns now playing for New York. His scoring has seen a significant increase, jumping from 25.9 to 28.1 points per game. A big factor in this improvement has been Edwards' enhanced 3-point shooting. He is taking an average of 11.3 shots from beyond the arc per game and has been successful in hitting 42.4% of them. This has made him a reliable scoring option for the Timberwolves.

2. How are new-look Wolves faring?: Minnesota got Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo in the Towns trade. Randle has done well, averaging 21.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. DiVincenzo is coming off the bench while averaging 9.4 ppg and 1.3 spg. That spark off the bench is key for the Wolves in every game.

4. Raptors’ injury woes: Toronto’s start to 2024-25 has been significantly impacted by a series of injuries to key players. Scottie Barnes has only played in four games due to an eye injury, Immanuel Quickley has played in three games, and Bruce Brown has yet to see the court.

5. RJ Barrett is getting buckets: With key players out, Barrett has been tasked with doing more offensively. He’s been up to the task and is coming off a big outing. The Raptors’ win over the Pacers was paced by Barrett scoring 39 points.
