New Delhi: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed the number one spot in the ICC Test Player Rankings for bowlers following his impressive performance in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. Bumrah took six wickets in the match, propelling him ahead of his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, who is now in second place. Ashwin, who also put on a strong showing with five wickets, is just one point behind Bumrah's total of 870. Another Indian bowler making a mark in the top 10 is Ravindra Jadeja, who sits at sixth place in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Prabath Jayasuriya rose to a career-high of seventh position – on equal with Australian spinner Nathan Lyon. Among the Bangladesh bowlers, Mehidy Hasan (up four spots to 18th) and veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan (up five places to 28th) rose up.
