New Delhi: Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the greatest batters in IPL history, with an impressive record of 8,004 runs in 252 matches, which includes 8 centuries and 55 half-centuries. As a consistent performer for his team over the past 17 seasons, Kohli is gearing up for his 18th season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the highly-anticipated IPL 2025.

The 36-year-old Virat Kohli is currently taking a break after leading India to victory in the Champions Trophy 2025. India defeated New Zealand in the final to clinch their third Champions Trophy title. Following the win, the Indian players are enjoying a one-week break before joining their IPL teams after the Holi festivities. Kohli will be back in action on March 22nd when Royal Challengers Bengaluru face Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kohli is just one century away from achieving a historic milestone in T20 cricket. He currently holds the record for the most T20 centuries by an Indian, with a total of 9 centuries – 8 in the IPL and 1 international century, which he made against Afghanistan during the T20 Asia Cup in 2022. If Kohli scores another century, he will become the first Indian to reach 10 T20 centuries.

Chris Gayle leads the list of most T20 centuries with 22, followed by Babar Azam with 11, and Virat Kohli at third place with 9 centuries. Kohli now has a prime chance to overtake Babar Azam in this season of the IPL. He was in top form during the Champions Trophy 2025 and will look to carry that confidence into IPL 2025.

Virat Kohli retired from T20 internationals in June 2024 but is still eager to set new records in the upcoming IPL season and help RCB end their title drought.
